Domain & Routing
Domain & Routing (Channels → Domain & Routing) controls the URL your customer storefront is served from. You can run on a free Aforo subdomain or bring your own custom domain.
Two modes
Subdomains and custom domains are unique across all of Aforo — first-come, first-served. A taken status, or a provision that fails because the handle is in use, means another organization already holds that exact subdomain or domain. Each handle routes to exactly one storefront, so pick a different one rather than retrying the same value.
Subdomain availability
As you type, the subdomain field shows a live status: checking, available, taken, reserved, or invalid. You must Provision Storefront once before the mapping is active.
Custom domain verification
A custom domain moves through a verification lifecycle:
PENDING → (add DNS records) → VERIFIED
↘ FAILED → Retry
Aforo issues an ACM certificate and returns the CNAME validation records (name, value, type) you must add to your DNS. Use Verify Now to run a validation cycle, or Retry to reset and re-verify after a failure. The page surfaces a human-readable failure reason when verification fails.
Domain & Routing is also reachable as a tab inside the Customize Storefront editor — the same configuration, surfaced in both places.
